Our Journey

In 1986, Rem Yildirim started a journey in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar that changed rug making and restoration. Rem found his love for an old craft with help from his family. He moved to Florence, Italy, after two years of learning. In the Renaissance, he focused on managing colors and revitalizing carpets, furniture, rugs, and tapestries that told stories of the past.

Mastery Through Travel

Rem’s quest for mastery took him across Italy, absorbing centuries-old techniques from master knotters. The pilgrimage was more than just learning; it was about understanding the soul, history, and art of each rug. In 1990, Rem returned to Turkey, enriching his craft by engaging with families who had woven rugs for generations. His reputation for quality and authenticity grew, but it was the allure of America that eventually called to him.

A New Home in Summerland CA

In 2001, Rem was in Santa Fe, now we are in Summerland CA, where people valued quality and authenticity like he did. Here, Rem became known for selling beautiful rugs and carpets under the names Sinbad Art and Arrediamo. Each piece reflects his travels, knowledge, and the skill of the artisan who made it.
